Kuk-i-kukuret

Always wanted a clock with a bird in it... especially a quiet bird. Finally got one thanks to cheap Tiger but Varði finds it beyond ugly so I guess I will have to hide it in a closet or something...

Now, to the childish part: Who in the name of the holy tomato names a clock kuk-i-kukuret? For those of you who do not speak Swedish and therefore do not understand how unbelievely funny this is, I can tell you that kuk means cock (am I allowed to write that by the way? or am I violating some bad-word-blog-law?).  

In Sweden, hens and chickens say "kuckelikuuu" (big difference from kukikuk) and all other birds say "kvitter kvitter". It must therefore be a very weird bird race in the clock... a very naughty one... probably Danish (Tiger is Danish right?). Manufacturers should think about where their products will be sold when naming them.

It's a bit like the Swedish name Alfons (Alfons Åberg is a famous cartoon Swede...) which means pimp in some eastern European countries I have heard. Arla (milk company) put Alfons Åberg on milk cartons and sold it to eastern Europe and people were wondering about the cartoon boy pimp... 

Hmm... many things are named kuk here in Iceland... I saw a kukhamster in Dýraland the other day... poor bastard. (And no I am not confusing kuk with kúk).
